As subjective as beauty is, there seems to be a universal consensus around a few beauty principals, white teeth being one of them. The industry surrounding oral hygiene is a goldmine, and rightfully so, as no one would argue against the notion that your mouth is one of the very first things people see when coming into contact with another individual. As of late we are noticing many celebrities and socialites backing teeth whitening products, but do these products really work, or is their marketing scheme simply genius?

Celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Blac Chyna, Scott Disick… Well, pretty much the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan and affiliates, have been seen endorsing the teeth whitening kit HiSmile and as a result, HiSmile is in the hands of young individuals all over social media, but for the rational individual this isn’t enough. I made it a duty of mine to get my hands on the bright blue light and give it to a complete stranger in order to ensure there was no bias or obligation involved.

Shannon is a 33-year-old woman who I frequently come in contact with as she happens to be a cashier at my go-to coffee shop in the mornings. Since I have the pleasure of seeing her at least once a week, I felt she would be an ideal candidate. I educated Shannon on what the HiSmile light is and introduced her to their new Day and Night toothpaste; she was immediately on board. Now, I made it a point not to speak to her for two weeks, hoping that would exaggerate our follow-up a bit, and boy, it sure did! After the two week trial of using HiSmile, Shannon’s teeth were as though she went to the dentist for a professional whitening; her teeth looked at least 5 shades whiter – I was in shock.

Take a look at Shannon’s progress and see for yourself. Again, all Shannon used was HiSmile’s whitening kit (Light and Gels) as well as their Day and Night toothpaste, which happens to be an amazing infusion of natural ingredients without all the harmful chemicals that many leading brands still have today.
